A few times a year Bier Gallery transforms into a working studio with demonstrations by several of the Artists that the Gallery represents. Tami and Tyler Bier as well as Anna Farrell are a constant at these events. Tami demonstrates clay sculpture while Tyler and Anna demonstrate making their ceramic guitars, functional pottery, or Tyler's grandfather's tradition, clay piggy banks. Of course Ray is always as busy as can be tending to the customers in the shop.

Cal Kemppainen demonstrating plein air painting. View his paintings at Bier Art Gallery as well as at Wind Ridge Studio located across from Bier Gallery

Rex Benson - Whimsical Sculpture

Emily Beynon Demonstrating Watercolors.

An assortment of other artists rotate yearly at these events and demonstrate their expertise in their given fields. Elizabeth Abeel's detailed batik techniques reveal a multi-layered process while Stephen Kostyshyn's meticulous weaving techniques on his mixed media baskets express a meditative patience. Emily Beynon’s watercolor techniques add an interesting dimension to the events. Let’s not forget Rex Benson's delightful and often wacky demonstrations of his whimsical clay sculptures.

Children try their hand at pottery.

The Gallery is full of new exciting Art work.

Each demonstration day is unique and there are always surprises when old friends and families meet and find common interests with the artists. The loose format embellished by refreshments, (not to forget Tami's famous chocolate chip cookies) lends itself to a relaxing day to watch artists creating their work and a wide selection of pieces to purchase.
